I agree, and am looking forward to better cad style 'automated dimensioning' at some point in the future for OneCNC. OneCNC is already quite middle of the road in pricing, or even considered bargain priced by many users, so yet another 'version' just creates more hassle for the users who may not realize what they are missing in general utilization of the program. Kind of like buying one set of wrenches to work on your car with, when typically you might require at least a pair of wrenches the same size occassionally It is probably one of the poorest bargains to save a measly grand or two. The concept sounds good.but, in real life, it is clumsy to be handcuffed, switching back and forth between programs to do minor things, like create a surface here or there, do a boolean operation with solids, etc. Mill Advantage was the 'reduced package', intended for users who were mainly importing CAD from wherever else.

And provided the patch to all of it’s users. With NO help from OneCNC, I contacted Rhino “for a work around” instead Rhinos’ programmers changed their program to work with OneCNC (FREE OF CHARGE!). I can personally attest to Rhinos willingness to help its users, as I had some difficulties with OneCNC dropping Rhino data (OneCNC’s fault, due to an upgrade). I was speaking with a Rhino technician whom hinted that parametric programming might be in the works.Īnd to all my fellow Rhino users out there, Rhinos’ tech support is the best I’ve encountered, they are always looking for feed back and suggestions and are continually improving the software, (and the patches are FREE!) OneCNC directly imports Rhinos’ file format, and it’s easy to learn.
If you already have OneCNC, and the $200.00 price tag of a dongle sounds excessive, what do you think a replacement system is going to cost, (Not to mention the additional learning time with a new system)? My advice would be get a CAD package (as you already know OneCNC) and get Rhinos’ educational package ($190.00 and you only need a students report card-any grade).
